Umpqua Impostor Pupa in Olive
Sizes #10 to #14 (Barbless)
"This pattern is the result of many years of tinkering and refining in search of a reliable chironomid pattern, suitable for suspending under an indicator in stillwater. The prominently visible, fluorescent orange wingbuds, shrouded under clear UV resin accurately imitate the expanding, highly visible thorax of emerging midge pupa suspended in the water column. The semi-transparent rib, over thread in matching colors, visually presents a subtle sheen that gives the fly a natural appearance. The TMC226BL hook provides a sexy shape that suggests movement as the fly gently bobs under an indicator. The barbless point penetrates and holds fish beautifully but is easy to remove once the fish is in the net. Designed as a stillwater trout pattern, the Impostor Pupa has surprisingly been a great bluegill/panfish catcher when big chironomids are emerging in southern lakes and ponds." - Signature Tyer John Wood
